When it comes to picking a new pair of headphones, most shoppers look for a good balance of quality, features, and price. The TOZO Open Buds are a comfortable pair of smart earphones with app control that deliver great audio without breaking the bank. The good folks at TOZO were kind enough to send us a pair to review, so let’s see what was included:
Our TOZO Open Buds came in a neat, tiny package. We got a charging case, two open ear headphones, a manual, and a charging cable. We used the manual only to learn the various touch commands. The case not only holds the earbuds but also provides additional battery juice for them (up to 42h). The open ear design ensures you stay aware of your surroundings while enjoying your music or podcast.
These headphones are IPX6 rated, so you can exercise with them. They have a dual-axis adjustable design, so they should fit on ears of all shapes and sizes. You get a short USB-C cable to charge these with your laptop. We found pairing these to our laptop and iPhone/iPad a breeze. Opening the charging case automatically powered them on. You can use these earbuds together or individually.
To turn these earbuds on/off outside their case, we simply had to touch and hold left and right earphone for 3 seconds. Activating Siri is also painless as it only requires 3 taps. Volume can be increased or decreased with a a long press on the left and right earphone respectively.
You have the option to pair these with multiple devices. For that, simply pair your Open Buds to your phone, then turn its Bluetooth off and pair them to your second device. Finally, turn the first device back on and connect to these earphones. They automatically switch to the device that is playing audio.
The TOZO Open Buds come ready to go out of the box but you have the option to further customize them with your phone. The companion app shows the remaining battery life for each earphone. You get standard, Bass+, Vocal, Classical, and Treble+ audio presets to choose from. You can also change gestures for each side through the app or restore them to their default setting. Firmware updates can also be done using the app.
Overall, we found these earbuds to be very convenient to set up and wear. With dual-axis adjustment, we were able to fit these pretty fast. The battery life was pretty impressive with the case. We also loved the multi-point connection feature. Best of all, these earphones are IPX6 rated, so they will survive your exercise sessions and outdoor adventures. If you are looking for a pair of open ear headphones with a stable connection, highly adjustable design, impressive battery life, and app enhanced features, you should give the TOZO Open Buds a serious look.
