Meet the TOSY Flying Duo: a boomerang and flying disc with LEDs that make playing at night a lot of fun. The TOSY Flying Disc can create amazing light effects as you throw it. It has 6 modes that you can change with the push of a button. It has a smart IMU sensor to detect when it is on the ground.
The good folks behind this product were kind enough to send us a sample to review. The flying disc and boomerang both come to life as you throw or launch them. The disc has 360 LEDs and 6 brightness levels. The boomerang’s LEDs come on/off automatically as you launch it. You can use it indoors but you are going to have the best results outside, preferably in an area without any trees. Both of these are rechargeable via the included USB-Type cable. They are also waterproof and ready for outdoor play.
The TOSY Flying Disc weighs only 175 grams while the Boomerang weighs 40g. They are fun to play with during the day but a whole lot cooler at night. We found the Boomerang specially exciting but you need a decent amount of open space to truly enjoy it.
You can change the mode and brightness of the Disc with the buttons on it. Only the Flying Disc has a timer mode. We tested each of these for around 30 minutes outside with no problem. Their batteries last longer than that though.
Whether you are interested in active play outdoors, light painting, or trick shots, the TOSY Flying Duo can handle it. The project has already had a lot of success on Kickstarter.
