SwitchBot Curtain Automator Robot 🦾 Gadgetify

In this day and age, you don’t have to replace everything in your home to make it smart. Take the SwitchBot Curtain for instance: it is an app connected curtain automation kit that lets you open / close your curtains with your iOS and Android device. The good people at SwitchBot were kind enough to send us a complete kit to review. It included a SwitchBot Curtain (Rod-Type), solar panel, and remote.

This kit is pretty easy to install. You can adjust it to fit most rod sizes on the market. A bunch of clips are included, which you can attach to your curtain to complete the installation process. The device is completely wireless and lasts up to 8 hours on battery. You can even use the special solar charger for SwitchBot to keep the motor powered up.

The pairing process to an iPhone was pretty straight forward. Once you are connected, you are walked through the calibration process. Using your phone, you can put your curtains on a schedule and create scenes that fit your lifestyle. You can use the SwitchBot remote to control your curtains even more easily.

The company also sent us a SwitchBot Hub Mini that comes handy when controlling these devices with Siri, Google Home, or Amazon Alexa. Due to the mechanical design, you can easily use this curtain robot anywhere around your home. We used the rod version but u-rail/i-rail versions are also available.

This motor is compact and lightweight. Don’t let the size fool you as SwitchBot Curtain can push up to 17lbs of load. The above GIFs show it in action. You can get yours here.
