Meet the SmartMirror : a mirror you can control with simple gestures to view information that matters to you. The mirror can display time/date, calendar, weather, Twitter mentions, and more. It has a 21.5″ LCD (1920×1080 resolution) display and a Raspberry Pi B+ with WiFi connectivity. The frame is built out of Canadian maple. The LCD turns itself off after a few minutes, but you can turn it back on with a wave of your hand in front of the sensor.
The SmartMirror does not need a camera to work. It lets you build your own widgets to see the information that you want. The device looks intriguing, but we are a bit worried about the glare. You can find out more about the SmartMirror on Kickstarter.
