A lot of content creators use multiple action cams to capture their adventures everywhere they go. There are plenty of models on the market that have a steep learning curve or cost a lot of money. The SJCAM C200 Pro may be affordable but can record 4k@30fps video and 20MP photos. It is also waterproof, so it is ready for your outdoor adventures. We recently had the chance to get our hands on one. Let’s see what is included:

Just like the C300, which we tested a few weeks back, the C200 Pro came with a whole host of accessories for easy mounting. It comes in a waterproof case right out of the box, but you can remove it easily. In fact, the body is waterproof to 5 meters even without the case (30m with it). We also got a back clip, base & front mount, 3M adhesive stickers, a screw, and curved & flat mounts. You can use these to mount this action cam to your dashboard or anywhere else. A wearable magnetic holder is included for POV shots.

The C200 Pro has a 135-degree wide-angle view and 1.3-inch touchscreen. You can access WiFi and playback settings by swiping down. With a swipe up, you gain access to various modes, including video, still, slow rec, car, and livestreaming mode. This action cam has a built-in 6-axis anti-shake function, so it can capture smoother video when you are moving. It also has a HDR mode to bring dull conditions to life.

The C200 Pro has a voice broadcast function to offer audio cues when you start and stop recording. Just like the C300, this model supports motion detection. When turned on, the camera automatically starts recording when motion is detected. This is perfect for recording in your car. You can add a memory card from the left side. On the right side, you have two buttons to navigate and easily access WiFi and settings pages.

The C200 Pro has AI face recognition to capture shots effortlessly. Pairing the camera to our phone was pretty straight forward. We simply had to scan a QR code to make the connection. Once there, you can use your phone or tablet to change settings and see what the camera sees on a larger display. The C200 Pro is ready for TikTok and YouTube Shorts videos (in vertical video mode). It is also suitable for low light conditions. You can play around with ISO, white balance, noise reduction and image brightness to get the best shots possible.

This model has the following video recording modes:

  • 3840 x 2160p @ 30fps
  • 2560 x 1440p  60/30fps
  • 1080p & 720p 120/60/30fps
  • H.264/H.265 Video Encoding

To change these, simply tap on the resolution on the display and slide up/down. We used the C200 Pro to record an hour of video in our backyard, and it still had a bit of battery to go. We also exposed it to water without its case and had no issues. The body is waterproof to 5 meters but the included case increases that to 30m. A special mode is available for the diving shell.

Accessing and transferring videos and photos was also pretty easy. You can always preview your videos on the device with a swipe. You can also connect the C200 Pro to your laptop to copy your files. It also works as a webcam, so you can use this for online meetings.

Overall, we found the C200 Pro to be quite a decent, affordable action cam. It has a very short learning curve as the controls are intuitive. The 1.3-inch touch display was a bit small for us, though. The magnetic holder makes capturing hands-free shots easy. The anti-shake feature is adequate but it won’t outperform handheld stabilizers. If you are looking for a mini 4k action cam that performs well in low light conditions and doesn’t break the bank, you should give the C200 Pro a look.
