Posture-tracking wearables are nothing new. Prana is working on a wearable device that tracks breathing and posture to improve your health. The device uses a 3-axis accelerometer and proprietary algorithms to measure your breathing patterns and posture. It can tell you when you are slouching. The companion app for the device will run on iOS and Android devices. It will tell you how to breathe better and maintain better posture.
The device will have two modes — passive and active. In the passive mode, the device monitors your breathing patterns and sends you an alert when it detects irregularities. You get training in the active mode. The Prana device will have a battery that lasts 7 days when fully charged. Here is a summary of what you get:
- Design: worn on the waist (1.25″ x 0.25″)
- Battery: 7 days
- Training: breathing in game mode
- Activity: tracks steps
- Stats: 10 breath statistics and posture
- Content: library of breath patterns
You will have to wait till January 2015 to get this wearable device.
