I don’t know about you, but I hate TV commercials. The Playmute is an innovative device that aims to save you from having to deal with boring commercials. The device lets you mute or change what you are watching by snapping your fingers. When you switch to your favorite app or multimedia content, you can still see what’s happening during commercials thanks to a small PIP screen.
With the Playmute at your disposal, you can catch up with your Facebook posts, check a few YouTube videos, or even tweet about the show you are watching while commercials are on. You can just snap your fingers, clap, whistle, or shake your smartphone to switch back to live TV. The Playmute essentially serves as a digital media player, game station, and an ad-switcher. It will be Android powered but will have an app for Android and iOS devices.
The folks behind this project are going to give developers access to a free SDK. The device will support 3D gaming, 1080p video, signal recognition, and more. You can find this cool device on Kickstarter.
