Harvard’s Octopus-inspired Soft Robot

Plenty of researchers are inspired by nature to improve their robots. Harvard researchers have created an octopus-inspired robot that can grip, move, and manipulate a wide range of objects. Its tapered design and suction cups ensure a firm grasp on objects of all shapes and sizes.

This robot is modeled after the shape and sucker layout of octopus arms. The above video from the Bertoldi Lab/Harvard SEAS shows how this octopus inspired robot works.
