AI chessboards have come a long way over the years. The latest models let you play against Stockfish and LC0. The older models were not as smart but a few of them could work with computers. Take the Novag Citrine for instance: it is a 2006 chess computer with LEDs to show the moves. It also has a detachable computer with a LCD display.

This board didn’t have the strongest engine but it was stylish and versatile for its time.
