Many of us have multiple Apple devices that need to be charged regularly. A decent charging stand can help you power up multiple gadgets at the same time. The iWalk StandMe Auto is not your average charger. It is a sleek, adjustable-angle stand that uses a sensor to detect your gesture and automatically rotate. The good folks behind it were kind enough to send us one to test. Let’s see what was included:
Our StandMe Auto came in a small package. It comes with the main base, an adapter, a USB-C to USB-C cable, and a manual. I didn’t even need to read the manual to figure out how to use it. For starters, the Apple Watch holder pops out with a push. The viewing angle for the smartphone holder can be adjusted up to 65 degrees. In the back, you have an area to charge your AirPods.
This charging stand is quite elegant, so it doesn’t look out of place in any setting. It is designed to work with iPhone 12 to iPhone 16, Apple Watch 2 or later, and new AirPods. We were able to get it to work with an iPhone 11 with a cheap MagSafe case.
StandMe Auto has an infrared sensor in the back that detects your gesture, but for the rotation to work, you need to attach your phone first. The detection range is about 11cm, so your phone won’t rotate accidentally. The charger has a 15W output, so it recharges your phone quickly.
I found the sensor to be pretty responsive. The rotation mechanism is smooth and not noisy. The magnet used in this charging stand is powerful enough to keep your phone in place. I am a bit clumsy around these gadgets but even when I bumped it accidentally, my phone stayed put. This charger doubles as a stylish phone stand for hands-free viewing, so whether you want to use it to watch Shorts, movies, or educational videos, StandMe Auto can handle it.
I was quite impressed with the quality of this wireless charging stand. Before testing this gadget, I read the negative reviews to see if there were issues I needed to know about. Unlike what I saw on Amazon, I had no problem using my phone with or without a case. Even my iPhone 11 with a slightly thicker MagSafe case worked with no issues. The auto rotation feature is something I didn’t know I even needed. If you’re searching for a fun and practical gift for the Apple fans in your life, this is definitely worth considering
