ICON Aircraft’s production A5 is finally here. It is an amphibious sport plane that can land or takeoff from water or land due to its boat hull design and retractable landing gear. The ICON engineering team has worked with top automotive and product designers to move this project forward. The airframe is made of lightweight, high-strength carbon fiber composite. The plane can carry one passenger and the pilot. It has a fuel capacity of 20 gallons. As the company has recently announced, the A5 is no longer a concept aircraft. It is ready for production, so you just have to bring $189k to get started.
