Robotic hands have certain limitations that robot designers are working hard to solve. For certain objects, robots will have to rotate their hand to grasp them. In some other cases, they are limited by their reach. This reversible robot hand can grasp objects from both sides. When an object is too far way, the hand detaches and crawls to grab it.
This robot hand uses its fingers to crawl on flat surfaces and find its way to the object it wants to grab. When holding an object, this robot uses its 3 other fingers for crawling. The hand can also grasp two objects at the same time. It seems to us the hand attaches to the arm magnetically.
