Chess computers have come a long way over the years. The new models such as the DGT Centaur, Chessnut Air, and Square Off run very powerful engines that can beat all grandmasters. The older models may not be as strong but can give weaker players a good game. Take the Fidelity Advanced Voice Chess Challenger: it is an electronic chess computer from 1979. It is a talking chess board with a LCD display to show the moves.
Unlike newer boards, this one doesn’t have a press sensory board, so you will have to enter the moves with its buttons. It does have a button to control its voice feature. The Fidelity Advanced Voice Chess Challenger is not sold in stores but you can get it on eBay. In the above video, we put it to the test against Chessnut Air’s engine.
