We have already covered plenty of advanced humanoid robots that can take on a variety of challenging tasks. In the future, they are going to become even more natural with their movement. Exbody2 is a whole-body control framework that enables humanoid robots to maintain stability while performing human-like motions. It enables them to run, crouch, and dance.
This framework can take any motion input and control the humanoid to mimic that motion. It is trained in simulation with reinforcement learning. As the researchers explain:
“decouples keypoint tracking with velocity control, and effectively leverages a privileged teacher policy to distill precise mimic skills into the target student policy, which enables high-fidelity replication of dynamic movements such as running, crouching, dancing, and other challenging motions.”
