Drones and robots are going to deliver groceries, parcels, and everything else in the future. A bunch of companies are already working on perfecting these machines. Here are 6 examples of drones delivering things already:
PD6B-AW-ARM Large Drone: this drone has 5-axis robotic arms for handling dangerous materials and moving objects. It has a max payload of 10kg.
Froyo Drone Delivery: this is a flying machine capable of delivering frozen yogurt. The first test was completed at Hope College in Holland, Mich. For now, the drones will be guided by human pilots.
UPS Drones for Commercial Deliveries: UPS and CyPhy are already testing a drone capable of making commercial deliveries to remote or difficult-to-access locations. The drone is battery-operated and flies by itself.
7-Eleven Drone: 7-Eleven and Flirtey have partnered to deliver cold and hot food items from 7-Eleven to a customer’s house autonomously.
DHL Parcelcopter: DHL is one of many companies planning to deliver packages via drones in the future. Its drones have already been used to deliver goods in Europe.
Vision Van: a future delivery van powered by a 75kW electric drive system, with a range of 270km. It has multiple drones to make deliveries within a radius of 10km.
