Operating a drone can be lots of fun as long as you don’t kill it by crashing it against a tree or other objects in its way. It is nice to know that researchers are already working on advanced algorithms to enable drones to avoid obstacles quickly. In fact, researchers from MIT’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) have demonstrated software that allows drones to stop on a dime to move above, under, and around obstacles in a simulated environment.
