Milk frothers are wonderful kitchen tools that you can use to make café-style coffee at home. While many high-end coffee machines already come with a frother, they do have certain limitations. The DREO BaristaMaker is a smart milk frother that you can use to make cappuccino and latte. It can produce heavy foam in 3.5 minutes. You can use regular and nut milks for your experiments. The good folks at DREO were kind enough to send us one to review. Let’s see what was included:

Our milk frother shipped with six simple parts: a milk jug, smart base, disc and impeller tips, tip holder, and lid. You can attach and detach the tips magnetically. The device has a gorgeous display that lets you choose from various programs. You can use milk, half & half, and almond/oat/soy/coconut milk in this. Just like the ChefMaker, the BaristaMaker is designed to be plug & play. All you have to do is select the program you prefer and wait for the machine to tell you which tip to use.

The BaristaMaker has a compact design, so you can fit it in small kitchens. It has hot cappuccino, hot latte, and hot flat white programs. There are also hot and cold thick foam programs, with the former being our favorite. The machine operates well with or without the lid and doesn’t create any wet mess. It is recommended that you use the lid to get the best results. Once you’re done, you can easily clean the jug, lid, and frothing tips with warm soapy water. They are dishwasher safe. The base should not be exposed to water, though.

The BaristaMaker is more than just a milk frother. It has a whole set of options for non-foam drinks. You can stir at low and high speed. There are 6 temperature settings for you to choose from (130F to 170F). The jug has markings to let you know how much milk to add for stirring, latte art, and foam. You can attach and remove the tips effortlessly. The impeller tip is great for hot latte, flat white and cappuccino while the disc tip is for thick foam programs and stirring.

We used whole milk, half & half, and 2% milk in this machine and got great results (best with the first two). Stirring protein shakes is also fairly easy. Just select the temperature and speed, add your ingredients and enough liquid, and wait a couple of minutes. You can mix cocoa, Matcha, chocolate and protein powder in this.

The BaristaMaker has a clear, bright display with easy controls. It features boil dry and overheating protection. It will alert you when the frother is empty or the ambient temperature is too high. It also displays an error code if it is experiencing a short-circuit or another serious issue.

Overall, we found the DREO BaristaMaker to be very easy to use. You don’t need to be a coffee expert to put it to use. It has a simple interface for choosing milk program, stirring mode, and temperature. It is easy to disassemble for cleaning. If you are looking for a smart milk frother to take your coffee experience to the next level with regular or nut milks, you should give this machine a serious look. DREO is launching this product on Kickstarter. Early supporters will be able to pick it up at a major discount.
