Adopting a cat or dog can be exciting but it takes work to keep them healthy and happy. You will need to make sure your pets have access to clean water and fresh food every day. There are many fancy pet feeders on the market but most don’t have enough capacity for multiple pets or large dogs. They also fail to keep food fresh for too long. The Dokoo Large Smart Vacuum Pet Feeder aims to address those issues. It is a 15L dog/cat feeder with an adjustable bowl holder, timer, and voice recorder function. Our Dokoo Pet Feeder got to us very well packaged. Everything was neatly organized inside the large container. We got the following:
- upper and lower bowl holders
- stainless steel bowl
- main unit
- power adapter
- manual
- desiccant packs, brush, and dust blower.
This pet feeder is easy to set up and clean as it has easily removable parts. You simply have to open the unit by grabbing the sides, put a desiccant pack inside, and add your food. It can handle all types of kibble up to 0.9″. The unit has a simple touch control panel that you can use to record voice, set up feeding programs, vacuum, and lock it. You can schedule up to 6 meals and 20 portions for each.
Recording a meal call for our cats was fairly easy. We simply pressed on the voice button, recorded a message while getting close to the machine, and the rest was easy. When recording a new message, a 10-second countdown is shown, so you will know how long you have left. You can listen to what you have recorded with a short press on the same button.
The Dokoo Large Pet Feeder has enough capacity to feed your pet for a couple of weeks. It has a vacuum pump technology to pump out the air and seal the food inside to keep it fresh. You can see the status of the unit on its display. The screen lock mechanism is also helpful as it keeps your pets from messing around with it.
Since we used this for cats, we only used the lower bowl holder. Some of our cats even preferred eating from that instead of the stainless steel bowl. This pet feeder is powered via a 5V adapter but a backup battery option is available. Simply insert 4 x D batteries in the back, and you are covered in case of a power outage.
We tested our Dokoo Pet Feeder with standard dry cat food and had no issues. There was no jamming based on our tests. The feeder managed to follow our pets’ meal plan and portions as expected. Our cats tried to mess about with it but the base was stable enough to stay put no matter how hard they tried.
Overall, we found the Dokoo Automatic Dog Feeder very easy to set up, use and clean. It has an intuitive design with no unnecessary complexities. It can be used for both cats and dogs. Thanks to its vacuum sealed container, your pets are served fresh food when you want automatically. A manual feeding option is also available. This would make a great gift for dog and cat lovers in your life.
