The VW Bus is back, and this time it’s electric. According to Volkswagen, the I.D. Buzz concept will be available for purchase some time in 2022. As the company explains:
Just like the concept car that was shown in Detroit, the production model will also have its batteries mounted in the vehicle floor. Because the electric drive components — electric motor, power electronics, and such —don’t take up much space, the vehicle has a long wheelbase with short overhangs, allowing for a massively spacious interior and great proportions
The vehicle looks like a compact van on the outside but offers plenty of space inside. It has 369 hp from electric motors on its axles and a 111kWh battery pack with 300 miles of range. The vehicle can seat 8 people and has space for 162.5 cubic feet of cargo. More info is available here.
