Meet Covie: a temperature taking robot that makes sure employees who are running a fever don’t expose others to contagious diseases like COVID-19. It is being used at Yaskawa Motoman headquarters to take individual employee temperatures. The HC10DT collaborative robot used to pull this off uses a webcam with infrared depth sensing and facial detection software to get the job done.

The robot uses a PyroMiniUSB infrared temperature sensor to scan the forehead of each person. A green light will flash when a reading is measured to be in the “safe” range. The above video shows how Covie works.
