Meet the ChronodeVFD: a good looking steampunk VFD wristwatch built around a IVL2-7/5 VFD display tube, which happens to be completely transparent from front to back. When you put the display on top of a circuit board, you will be able to see the PCB beneath. The watch also has a roll cage that gives it a cooler look.
J. M. De Cristofaro, aka “johngineer”, is behind this cool watch. You can find out more about how this watch was made on his excellent website. The tools and materials used are already available on the site. The board and schematic files and electrical BOM are expected to be released in the upcoming weeks.
