Chessnut is behind some of the best smart chessboards we have tested. These boards can work with a wide variety of apps, including ChessBase, WhitePawn, and even a Raspberry Pi chess computer like the DGT Pi. They all support Chess.com and Lichess. Not all of them are portable though. The Chessnut Pro is a tournament-size board which is too big to move around. The EVO has its own Android tablet but it is a bit heavy.

Chessnut Air vs. Chessnut Air+ vs. Chessnut Go 🟡 Lc0 vs. Stockfish Test

The Chessnut Air, Air+, and Go are 3 portable electronic chess boards from this company. The first two are very similar in design but the Air+ just has a more elegant look and hidden LEDs under the board. The interface on the side is very similar with a USB-C port and status lights. The Chessnut Go has a magnetic design, so the pieces stay put as you move the board around.

The Chessnut Go has an offline game recording function. It is super thin and lightweight, so you can fit it in the smallest bags. All these boards work with DGT Pi, Arena, ChessBase, and other third party apps. With the latest Chessnut app, you can take advantage of Maia, Lco, and Stockfish to test your skills. The Chessnut Air+ and Go have hidden LEDs while the first board has visible dots on it. The pieces are interchangeable for the most part but the Air+ has the highest quality pieces.
