The Chess Genius electronic chessboards are standalone chess computers that can give beginners and intermediate users a game. They are great for kids to practice their chess skills without using a smartphone or tablet. The Chess Genius PRO 2024 is the latest model in this series. It is super compact, so you can easily fit it in a bag. We recently had the chance to test one. Let’s see what was included:
Our Chess Genius PRO 2024 came with a tiny magnetic board and pieces. The display is much more colorful than the older Chess Genius Pro. In fact, it looks like the mini version of ChessGenius for iPad. You will be able to use the buttons on the board to change level, get the computer to move, change playing style, and a lot more.
The “next best” feature is very handy for people who want to practice all variations of an opening. When selected, the board makes a different move every time to test your skills. You can continue playing from there or ask for another move. This board also has a 2-player mode.
This board has Blitz, Tournament, Normal, and various other modes for you to choose from. The display is much easier to read than the previous models. You have a button on the left side of the board to adjust brightness. The engine has an estimated rating of 2200 ELO but that is mainly for longer games.
