Remember CAPIO? It is an upper body exoskeleton for teleoperation of robots with 8 contact points and haptic feedback. As DFKI’s videos show, it is possible to use this system to remotely operate robots across the world. Researchers have already managed to use the CAPIO exoskeleton to control an AILA humanoid robot in Germany from Russia.
The system features joint-to-joint mapping, so as the operator moves, the robot follows. Pretty impressive, don’t you think?
