Here is a 3D printed robot that was designed to explore computer vision and legged locomotion. The developer has had it learn how to walk and performed terrain adaptation by building a 3D map of the terrain. It all started as a class project, but the developer used a 3D printer to give it a makeover. The spider runs on an Intel Edison chip. The body, legs, and head mechanism are all 3D printed.

Why Edison? It has a compact design, so it opens up space for battery and others sensors. Quite fascinating if you ask us.
