In the past few years, we have covered plenty of clever animatronic robots designed to socially interact with humans around them. This audio-animatronic robot is pretty special though. It is a multi-layer, 3D printed design. It has a “separatetendon-based actuation system” for smooth motion. This robot also has an audio-based motion generation module that creates natural head and mouth motion based on audio input.

According to the researchers, such an approach can be used to make talking and singing robots. The above video shows it in action.
